Good news from the Pench Tiger Reserve, featured in our Jungle Book holiday – staff at the reserve recently announced the birth of four more tiger cubs have been born in the forests of the Pench Tiger Reserve. This brings the total number of tiger cubs in the reserve to 16. So along with the 33 adult tigers, Pench can now boast 49 tigers in all. Given the drastic decline in tiger numbers in India owing to poaching and encroaching urbanisation, this is fantastic news. Earlier this year, Pench won an award for the best maintained tiger reserve in India. This is the forest that inspired Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book.Visit Pench and Kanha National Park on our Jungle Book holiday.
